Kansas City Men's Soccer returns home after suffering its first loss of the season on the road at No. 24 Portland. The Roos prepare to take on Drake for the fourth time in as many seasons.
The Roos were limited to a season-low tying two shots on goal in the game against the Pilots and were shut out for the first time all year. Prior to Friday's game, Kansas City had scored multiple goals in three-of-four contests.
Returning to the starting lineup in favor of the injured Gabriele Galluccio, Mathias Baucher played all 90 minutes in the game at Portland. Since making his first-career start at St. Thomas on Sep. 28, 2024, Baucher has played full time in 11-of-17 appearances.
Kansas City has now played three games against nationally ranked opponents, compiling a 1-1-1 record in those contests. The Roos are averaging 1.33 goals per game and keeper Marc Popow is averaging 3.0 saves per game in those matches.
Six Roos have made starts in all five of KC's contests so far this season. Outside of the keeper's box, Joackim Betina leads the other five in minutes played, compiling 426 and logging at least 75 minutes in every game.

Drake Notes

Drake enters Tuesday's game with a 3-0-2 record, including key wins on the road at Incarnate Word and Tulsa.
The Bulldogs are led offensively by Jackson Kirsch, who has tallied at least one point in every game and has scored goals in each of Drake's last two.
As a team, Drake ranks 27th in the nation with a 2.20 goals per game average and has yet to be shut out this season.
These teams are familiar foes - this is the 36th all-time meeting with Drake holding a 26-7-2 advantage.
The Bulldogs won the last meeting in Des Moines on Sep. 9 of last season, a 2-0 game that saw Drake score both goals after the 80th minute.
