Kansas City Notes
- Kansas City Men's Soccer returns to Durwood after a pair of games on the road, seeking their second-straight victory after a 2-0 win at SIUE on Wednesday evening.
- Jeremy Francou scored his fourth goal of the season against the Cougars, matching his season total from 2024. Through eight games, his numbers look very similar to his stats in 10 games played last season, also matching in assists (2), total points (10) and game-winning goals (1).
- A pair of new Roos made their mark at SIUE. Bryce Outman scored his first-career goal, the eventual game-winner and Edin Clark made his collegiate debut, playing 39 minutes and attempting a shot in the win.
- Raphael Kistmann started for the second-straight game and was a key contributor against the Cougars, assisting on both of the Roos' goals. He picked up his first two points of the season after ranking second on the team with 22 points last year.
- Marc Popow notched his first-career shutout on Wednesday, making three saves in the game. None were bigger than his 17th minute penalty kick block, leading to a KC counter attack goal just a minute later
Western Illinois Notes
- Western Illinois enters Sunday's game with a 2-6 record and has dropped its last three games.
- The Leathernecks and Roos have had one foe in common so far this year, Northern Illinois. Kansas City picked up a 2-1 win on Sep. 1 and WIU fell in a 5-0 decision on Aug. 28.
- Liam Gainey leads the Western Illinois offense with four goals scored on the year.
- These teams are common foes, having played together in the Summit League before Western's departure for the OVC. WIU holds a 21-17-3 all-time advantage but KC is 4-0-1 since the start of Ryan Pore's tenure.
- The last meeting came in KC on Oct. 18, 2023, a 3-0 win for Kansas City with goals from Brice Middleton, Miguel Fernandez and Hector Taboada.
