KANSAS CITY, Mo. -Â Kansas City Women's Basketball has announced the release of the 2025-26 non-conference schedule. The Roos begin a fresh campaign on Halloween night against Missouri Baptist and conclude the out-of-league portion of their schedule just before the turn of the calendar. KC hosts eight home games at the Swinney Center in non-conference play and will face the other six opponents on the road, traveling across four different states including Kansas, Arkansas, Colorado and Oklahoma this fall. You can buy your season tickets today to catch all of the Roos' home games live!
Following the Roos season opener against the Spartans, Kansas City gets set for an early test on Nov. 5 against Kansas. The last time KC defeated Kansas was Dec. 10, 2015 where the Roos took down the Jayhawks 47-44 in Allen Fieldhouse. Kansas finished 16-14 in 2024 and 6-12 in Big 12 play. The Roos then go back home on Nov. 8 to face off against local foe William Jewell. Kansas City is 3-1 versus the Cardinals all-time with the most recent result being a 74-32 victory in 2024.Â
Moving along, the Roos will touch down in SEC country on Nov. 12 for a prime-time showdown with the Sooners. It will be a homecoming for coach Dionnah Jackson-Durrett as the Roos fourth year head coach was a three-time All-Big 12 player at Oklahoma. Jackson-Durrett left the Sooners top-10 in points, assists, rebounds, steals and blocks and was a part of the program's first Final Four appearance in 2002. In 2024, Oklahoma landed in the Sweet 16 and sported a 27-8 record to finish No. 11 in the final AP Poll of the season.Â
Kansas City remains on the road for a Monday match up with Lindenwood. The Roos fell to the Lions in the two squads' first-ever meeting last year, 67-62 in the Swinney Center. Kansas City closes out the month of November with a three game home stretch of match ups against Hesston, UTEP and Austin Peay.Â
The Roos tip off the month of December with the Big Sky-Summit League Challenge. Kansas City will clash with Northern Colorado on Dec. 3 in Greeley, Colo. before hosting Portland State on Dec. 6 at home in part three of the conference vs. conference challenge. Kansas City stays at Swinney for their next contest on Dec. 13, taking on Utah Valley.Â
To finish out the non-conference schedule, the Roos play two of their final three games against Power conference opposition, the first coming in Fayetteville, Ark. on Dec. 17 against the Razorbacks. Arkansas finished 2024 with a 10-22 record and finished 3-14 in SEC play. The Razorbacks also lost to fellow Summit squad Oral Roberts 94-73 last November.Â
Returning home once again, Kansas City hosts their final non-conference home tilt on Dec. 20 against Haskell. KC closes out-of-conference play with a trip east on I-70 to Columbia, Mo. where the Roos take on the Tigers. In 2024, Missouri finished 14-18 and 3-13 in SEC play while going 10-9 at home.
