
Lanham Posts 200M Program Record 20.51 Time at Arkansas Twilight

Tory Lanham owns a tie for the 21st best 200-meter dash time in the country
FAYETTEVILLE, ARK. - Kansas City Track & Field shined bright on the big stage of the Arkansas Twilight on Friday evening. Tory Lanham put on a show for the ages, displaying next-level speed to the tune of a record-breaking 200-meter dash time of 20.51 seconds. On the women's side, Mariah Belmont and Maddie Dial both set new personal bests in their respective races as well. All together, the Roos got the team performance they needed to get a boost of momentum as the gigantic conference meet approaches.Â
TOP PERFORMERSÂ
- Tory Lanham - Death, taxes and Lanham setting a new program record in the 200-meter dash. The sophomore did just that in 20.51 second fashion, surpassing his prior best of 20.59 which he set back at the KT Woodman Classic. Lanham not only has the best time for that event in the conference but he's tied for the 21st best 200m time in the country.Â
- Amari Eugene - The underclassman sprinter continues to impress, boasting a near personal record time of 20.92 on Friday night. Eugene loves to showcase his best stuff in Fayetteville as the freshman has posted both his sub-21 second times at meets hosted by the Razorbacks. At the John McDonnell Invitational, Eugene posted a personal record 200m time of 20.90 seconds. Â
- Mariah Belmont - Headed into the meet, Belmont was fourth all-time in the 3000-meter steeplechase in Roos women's outdoor history. Belmont bested her prior PR time of 11:12.87 and set a new career-best time in the event with a 11:02.03 time at the Arkansas Twilight. Belmont remains ninth in the Summit League for the event.Â
- Maddie Dial - Dial set a new personal record in the 400-meter hurdles, running a 1:01.12 in Fayetteville to finish fifth place in the event. The Oklahoma State transfer is ranked sixth best in the Summit League for outdoor season and is the top runner over the one minute mark in the event. Â
