Elleana Navarro and Katelyn Maciel each notched three hits in the second game

OMAHA - Kansas City Softball (5-39) dropped a pair of games at Creighton (24-23) this evening, losing game one 9-1 and game two 12-4. Katelyn Maciel had a breakout day for the Roos, going 1-of-2 and scoring KC's only run in the first game and lacing three hits, including her second-career double, in the second game. Gianna Lickel extended her hitting streak to seven games, totaling three hits on the day, and Elleana Navarro went 3-of-4 from the plate in game two.

GAME ONE KEY MOMENTS

Bottom 1 / 0-0 | Maddy Duvall got through a scoreless first inning after Maciel sniped a stealing baserunner, followed by a fly out and a pop up.
Bottom 4 / 0-3 | Duvall went three up, three down in the fourth, drawing two fly balls to left field and a foul out that was snagged by Lickel on a diving play in right.
Top 5 / 1-3 | Maciel started Kansas City off with a single in the fifth and Leilani Bustamante advanced her to second, reaching on an error. Two batters later, Lickel stepped up to the plate and put a single through the middle of the infield, scoring Maciel.

GAME TWO KEY MOMENTS

Top 1 / 0-0 | The Roos threatened in the top of the first inning with singles from Lickel and Katie Noble and a walk from Sabrina Rogers, but were unable to bring any runs across.
Top 3 / 1-7 | Kansas City got on the board in the third after a walk by Noble and back-to-back two out singles from Navarro and Maciel.
Top 5 / 4-11 | Following a leadoff single from Navarro and a double by Maciel, Kendyl Anderson, Lauren Parker and Lickel drew three-straight walks, bringing in a pair of runs. Briona Woods brought another run in on a sacrifice fly, giving the Roos their last run of the game.
