Briona Woods and Sabrina Rogers earned two hits each
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Kansas City Softball (4-21) struggled to get things going offensively, falling 1-9 to Missouri State (8-21) in five innings. Briona Woods led KC from the plate, going 2-of-3 and hitting an RBI single in the fifth, for her fifth RBI of the season. Sabrina Rogers went 2-of-2 at the plate for her fourth multi-hit game. Missouri State stifled KC's momentum in the bottom of the fifth, bringing in five runs to close the game.

The Roos host South Dakota State opening the series with a doubleheader on Friday beginning at noon.

- Top 2 / 0-1 | Rogers got things started with a single to right field. Katie Noble kept the momentum going with another single and the pair moved into scoring position on an error. The Bears snagged three quick outs stranding the pair.
- Bottom 2 / 0-1 | Hannah Burks held the Bears without a hit in the bottom of the second, going three up, three down with three ground outs.
- Top 5 / 1-4 | Chloe Kohnhorst opened the inning with a single up the middle. She advanced to second on a passed ball and third on a ground out. Woods knocked a single up the middle with two outs, allowing Kohnhorst to score.
