Taylor Kvale knocked three base hits in the loss

KANSAS CITY - Kansas City Softball (4-20, 1-2 Summit) battled to the final out against North Dakota State (15-17, 2-1 Summit) this afternoon but fell in the series-deciding game, 4-2. Taylor Kvale was the Roos' spark at the plate, notching a career-high three hits and scoring a run. Sabrina Rogers went for an RBI and scored the Roos' other run, going for three total hits on the series. Hannah Burks held it down for KC in the circle for the second-straight game, pitching 6.2 innings and logging a career-high three strikeouts

KEY MOMENTS

Top 1 / 0-1 | North Dakota State got onto the board in the top of the first, but a 6-4-3 double play from Elleana Navarro, to Rogers, to Katie Noble put an end to the inning.
Top 4 / 0-3 | Burks worked around a two-out double to get out of the inning without any damage.
Bottom 6 / 1-3 | Back-to-back doubles from Rogers and Noble put Kansas City on the board with no outs. Kendyl Anderson drew a walk to put the tying run on the base path with two outs, but a line out to left field ended the inning.
Bottom 7 / 2-4 | Kvale opened the final frame with a single, Briona Woods walked and Grace Batdorf reached on an error to load the bases with no outs. Rogers grounded out to bring Kvale around for a run but a double play on the next at-bat gave NDSU the series win.
