Kansas City took the first game of the doubleheader with a seventh inning walk-off

KANSAS CITY - Kansas City Softball (3-16) earned a dramatic win over SIUE (12-10) in its first game of Thursday's doubleheader, a 3-2 walk-off victory before an 8-0 loss in game two. Sabrina Rogers played a large role in the Kansas City win, picking up an RBI single in the first inning and scoring the winning run in the seventh. She finished the day 4-of-6 from the plate, notching two hits in both games. Briona Woods was crucial for the Roos' defensive efforts, logging a team-high six putouts from center field in the first game.

GAME ONE KEY MOMENTS
Top 1 / 0-0 | Woods set the tone early on the defensive side of the ball, fielding a fly ball in center and doubling off a SIUE runner at second base.
Bottom 1 / 1-0 | With two outs in the bottom of the inning and runners on first and third, Rogers singled up the middle, scoring Woods and claiming an early lead.
Bottom 4 / 2-0 | The Roos loaded the bases with no outs on a single by Leilani Bustamante, a fielder's choice by Elleana Navarro and another single from Grace Batdorf. Gianna Lickel came up to the plate, singling and scoring Bustamante.
Bottom 7 / 3-2 | The Cougars tied the game up in the top of the seventh, but the Roos responded in the bottom of the inning, loading the bases with one out and winning on a walk-off from Batdorf that scored Rogers.

GAME TWO KEY MOMENTS
Bottom 1 / 0-2 | Kansas City juiced the bases with two outs, but could not bring anybody around to score.
Top 4 / 0-6 | Riley Bebb entered the game and tossed KC's lone scoreless inning of the game.
Bottom 7 / 0-8 | Rogers and Chloe Kohnhorst each singled in an attempt to spark a rally for the Roos, but it fell short.
