The duo are just the second and third players to be named First Team All-Region in program history
KANSAS CITY - For the first time since 2010, Kansas City Men's Soccer has been listed on the United Soccer Coaches' First Team All-West Region list, as was announced today. Jeremy Francou and Joackim Betina each earned a First Team nod, becoming just the second and third players in program history to do so.Â
Francou was the Roos' offensive leader all season, earning First Team All-Summit League honors. He led the team with 11 goals and 25 total points, tied for fourth in program single-season history in both categories.Â
Betina joined Kansas City after a pair of seasons at Florida International, making 20 starts in 21 games played and logging 1,716 minutes. He scored one goal on the season and tallied a team-high five assists, also earning First Team All-Summit League honors.
The pair helped lead Kansas City to its first-ever at-large bid in the NCAA Tournament and the first-ever NCAA Tournament game played at home, eventually ending the season in the tournament's second round.
Francou and Betina join John Bayron Sosa, who was named All-Midwest Region First Team in 2010, as the only First Team All-Region players in program history. They are the third and fourth players named All-Region since the program undertook the direction of Head Coach Ryan Pore, joining Elie Kisoka's second team selection in 2024 and Christian Koffi's third team selection in 2022.
The United Soccer Coaches will announce its All-American teams on Friday.
