SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The Summit League announced Tuesday afternoon that Kansas City's Mariano Beunza & Elouan Labadie-Vincent swept the Peak Performers of the Week awards.
Mariano Beunza scored two crucial goals for the Roos this week, delivering in two of Kansas City's biggest moments. The fifth-year senior first found the back of the net in the 88th minute on the road at No. 12 Missouri State, scoring the equalizer to secure a 3-3 draw in Springfield. Just four days later, Beunza delivered again, scoring a 74th-minute diving header to lift the Roos to a statement 1-0 victory over No. 7 San Diego. Beunza now has four goals on the season.
Junior Elouan Labadie-Vincent has made the most of his opportunities in his first season with the Roos. The French midfielder has appeared in just four matches this season, but made a major impact in his third game as a Roo, scoring both of Kansas City's goals in a 3-3 draw at No. 12 Missouri State. The brace marked Labadie-Vincent's first two goals in a Kansas City uniform.
Kansas City returns to action this Saturday, September 26th at 7 PM, when they take on the Golden Eagles of Oral Roberts to kick off Summit League action.
