Kansas City Notes
- Kansas City Men's Basketball is back home for the final two games of non-conference play, beginning with a game against Austin Peay on Sunday at 5 p.m. The Roos are looking for their third win in six games played at the Swinney Center this season.
- Kansas City is coming off a loss at Oklahoma State that saw the Roos hold a lead late in the second half and play a Big XII team to the closest margin of defeat since the 2012-13 season. Over the last three halves of play, all against Power conference competition, the Roos are shooting 40.5% from three point range.
- Karmello Branch has led KC in scoring in each of the last two games, averaging 21.5 points on 10-of-22 three-point shooting in those contests. Since missing a game due to illness on Dec. 3, Branch has steadily built back to form, reaching double-figure scoring in three-straight games.
- Jayson Petty has remained a consistent scoring option for the Roos, averaging 12.2 points per game and reaching the 10-point mark in 10-of-13 games. Across the last two seasons, Petty has scored in double figures in 32-of-46 contests, leading the Roos in scoring six times.
- Kansas City has stuck with the starting lineup of Branch, Petty, CJ Evans, Kasheem Grady II and Jerome Palm in five-straight games, tied for the Roos' most-used starting lineup this season. Since entering the starting lineup, Grady is averaging 13.5 points per game.
Austin Peay Notes
- Austin Peay enters Sunday's contest with an even 5-5 record, most recently taking down ETSU on a pair of game-winning free throws from Zyree Collins.
- Collin Parker is the Governors' leading scorer, averaging 15.0 points per game on 46.6% field goal shooting and 41.3% shooting from three-point range.
- As a team, Austin Peay ranks 15th in the NCAA averaging 10.6 steals per game.
