Kansas City Notes
- Kansas City Men's Soccer closes the regular season with a game against Delaware on Wednesday and a lot riding on the result. With a win or draw and a Denver loss, the Roos would take the #1 seed into the Summit League Championship. A win or draw and an identical Denver result would give KC the #2 seed, hosting a semifinal match. Should Delaware win, the Blue Hens would leap the Roos in the conference standings.
- The Roos are currently a six-game winning streak, tied for the longest such streak in program history. The only other time the KC put together six-straight wins came from Sep. 19 through Oct. 9 of 1999. Kansas City would go on to claim a share of the Summit (then Mid-Con) title that season.
- Kansas City needed a brilliant comeback effort to pick up a win over UMass on Saturday, winning 3-2 after falling behind by a pair of goals in the first 25 minutes of play. Jeremy Francou tallied a penalty kick goal at the end of the first half and the Roos scored back-to-back in the 67th and 69th minutes to escape with the victory.
- Tallying three goals in back-to-back league games, the Roos have drawn even with Delaware and Denver as the top scoring offenses in Summit League contests. All three teams have scored nine goals, averaging 1.8 per game.
- Bryce Outman notched his fifth assist of the season on Guille Munoz's equalizing goal in Amherst, giving him sole possession of the team lead. He ranks fifth in the Summit and 79th in the NCAA in total assists on the year, three of which have come in conference play.
Delaware Notes
- Delaware enters Wednesday's contest with a 12-1-2 overall record and a 3-1-1 mark in Summit League play. The Blue Hens still have an outside chance at the league title, but would need a win on Wednesday and either a loss or draw from Denver.
- The Blue Hens clinched postseason qualification on Saturday, claiming a 1-0 win over St. Thomas on a goal from Mikey Johnson.
- Marius Stenner, Mikey Johnson and Richard Monath have all logged 10-plus goals this year, ranking as the top three players in the league.
- Delaware boasts the top scoring offense in the nation, averaging 3.0 goals per game. The next closest team is Maryland at 2.57 goals per game.
- This will be the first-ever meeting between KC and Delaware, the third-straight game that KC is playing a first-time opponent.
