Kansas City Notes
- Kansas City invites in St. Thomas for a Saturday afternoon Summit League clash from the Swinney Center. Kansas City will look to snap a three match losing streak overall and in the all-time series against the Tommies.
- Last time out, Kansas City fell in straight sets to North Dakota State (17-25, 16-25, 14-25) in Fargo. Senior outside hitter Nyle Mathis led the team in kills with nine while Mia Weaver produced 10 digs which led the team and also marked the third straight match of double figure digs for the freshman.
- Historically, Kansas City has the all-time edge on St. Thomas at 6-3 since 2021. Eight of the Roos and Tommies nine matchups all-time have ended up in sweeps, six favoring Kansas City while two have favored St. Thomas.
- Kansas City ranks second in the Summit League in total digs and total attacks as a team. The Roos have rallied for 2,841 attacks, ranking 125th nationally, and 1,200 digs which is good for 108th in the country. The Roos have excelled on defense with 14.46 digs per set, ranking fourth best in the Summit League in that stat and 120th on the national scale.
- Lyla Jones reached the landmark 1,000 career assist milestone Tuesday night as the senior setter eclipsed the 1K mark with her third of the night. Jones posted 20 assists vs. Omaha, bringing her career total to 1,046. The UAPB transfer leads the team in assists (402) which ranks 6th in the Summit.
- Spearheading the Roos defensive effort is veteran defensive specialist Alaina Larson. The ORU transfer has produced 256 digs which ranks 8th best in the Summit and is among the top 250 in the country. Larson has tallied 12 matches of double figure digs, the most on the team.
- Ledisi Kpea leads the charge on both ends. The sophomore right side is 5th in the Summit League in total blocks with 82, 6th in blocks per set at 0.99 and 2nd in solo blocks with 16 in the 2025 season. Kpea is also first on the team in points with 204 and hitting percentage at .259 in the 2025 campaign.
St. Thomas Notes
- St Thomas boasts a record of 14-7 overall and 7-3 in Summit League play which puts the Tommies third in the conference, a half game behind second-placed South Dakota.
- Most recently, St. Thomas saw a four match win streak snapped in their 3-0 loss to South Dakota on Thursday. Before that, the Tommies had rattled off four in a row with sweeps over Omaha and North Dakota State.
- Morgan Kealy recorded the program's first triple-double of the Division I era Oct. 23 at Omaha, putting up 41 assists, 12 digs and a career-high 11 kills. It marked her 38th career double-double, her seventh match of the season with at least 40 assists, and 11 match of 2025 with at least 10 digs.
- The Tommies are 5th in kills per set (14.45), 7th in aces per set (2.16), 13th in assists per set (13.21), 35th in hitting percentage (.262) and 41st in attacks per set (36.58). Within the league, St. Thomas ranks first in points per set (18.19), assists per set, kills per set, hitting % and aces per set.
- Tommies HC Thanh Pham is became the 28th active NCAA Division I head coach to reach 500 career wins, doing so following a 2-0 week Oct. 16 and 18 against North Dakota and North Dakota State. He ranks 10th among active DI head coaches in winning percentage among coaches with at least 500 wins.
- Morgan Kealy continues to direct the Tommie offense as she surpassed 2,000 career assists during the sweep over Northwestern. She is second in the Summit League with 737 total assists this season (10.10 per set) and is second in active career assists among all Summit League setters.
