Kansas City Notes
- Kansas City Men's Soccer takes a break from Summit League play this week, starting with a trip to Tulsa. It will be a homecoming for Head Coach Ryan Pore, a Tulsa grad and former two-time All-American with the Golden Hurricane.
- The Roos are coming off a 3-1 Senior Night win over St. Thomas last Saturday, with seniors accounting for all three of KC's goals. Wade Muttitt opened the scoring with his third goal of the season, Raphael Kistmann and Timothy Ospina later added their first goals of the year.
- Alongside Ospina, Wesley Cribb, Guille Munoz and Miguel Fernandez each logged their first points of the season via assist in the win over UST. The Roos now have 17 different point-scorers on the year, showcasing the diversity of KC's offensive attack.
- Marc Popow has remained solid in goal for Kansas City, starting in 12 of the Roos' 13 games. He is currently allowing just a 0.83 goals against average, ranking second in the Summit and 34th in the NCAA among qualified keepers. Popow was recently ranked No. 14 in the TopDrawerSoccer Top-100 Freshmen mid-season list.
- The Roos currently sit atop the Summit League standings with nine points in conference play, but have played one game more than both Denver and Delaware, which sit at six points each.
Tulsa Notes
- Tulsa enters Wednesday's contest with a 4-7-2 record, but the Golden Hurricane have begun to find form with back-to-back wins over Temple and Florida International.
- Jared Aguilar is Tulsa's top point-scorer on the year with eight, scoring the game-winner in the recent win over FIU.
- As a team, Tulsa ranks second in the American and 79th in the NCAA in shots on goal per game, averaging 5.23.
- Tulsa owns a 13-2-2 advantage in the all-time series, including a 10-0-1 mark in games played in Oklahoma.
- The Roos took the most recent meeting, a 4-0 victory on Sep. 24 of last season. It was one of eight games that saw Kansas City score three-plus goals in 2024.
