Camry Stickel went the full game and allowed just two runs, but KC's bats were shut out

OMAHA, Neb. - Camryn Stickel pitched a gem across seven innings in today's series deciding game between Kansas City Softball (16-26, 4-8 Summit) and Omaha (32-10, 9-3 Summit), but the Roos' bats were unable to make any noise as the Mavericks claimed a 2-0 win. Stickel went the full game, allowing just six hits and only one extra base hit, but Kansas City was shut out offensively, collecting only three base hits.

Lauren Parker continued her solid play from yesterday's double header, notching a triple that gave the Roos their best scoring opportunity of the day. KC had runners in scoring position twice with zero outs, but could not bring any runs around to score.

KEY MOMENTS | HIGHLIGHTS

Bottom 3 / 0-0 | Stickel held Omaha without a baserunner throughout the first three innings, logging her first strikeout of the day in the third.
Top 5 / 0-1 | Kansas City looked to respond as the Mavs got on the board in the fourth inning, with Espy Daniels leading the fifth off with a double. The next three batters went down without any noise and Daniels was stranded on second.
Top 6 / 0-2 | Omaha added another run in the fifth but KC looked to score again when Parker began the sixth with a triple. The Roos could not get the ball out of the infield with the next three batters and were unable to make any action happen for a rally in the seventh.

STATS TO NOTE

Stickel made pitching appearances in all three games this weekend, tossing a total of 14.2 innings, allowing just three earned runs and striking out nine batters. Her ERA now sits at 2.69, the fifth-best in the Summit.
Parker extended her hitting streak to a career-best four games with her second triple of the season in the sixth inning.
The Roos move to 10-9 on the season when holding their opponents to three-or-fewer runs.
