Briona Woods hits home run in loss
ARLINGTON, Texas - Kansas City Softball (2-8) held their own with Boise State (7-2) but were not able to get ahead, falling 6-2. The Broncos came out firing, striking out the first three Kansas City batters and tallying two runs in the bottom of the first inning. The Roos, however, were not ready to back down. Briona Woods got Kansas City on the board in the top of the fourth with a solo home run, cutting the Boise State lead in half. The Broncos began to pull away, adding another run in the bottom of the fourth and tacking on three runs in the bottom of the six. Espy Daniels and Katie Noble both singled in the top of the seventh, bringing in a run for the Roos, but it was too little too late. Woods led the team at-bat in the loss and was the only Roo to have a multi-hit game.
