First Five
- Kansas City Men's Basketball remains on the road for a second-straight contest to take on Portland on Tuesday at 9 p.m. CT. The Roos remain in search of their first road win of the season, currently holding a 0-4 record.Â
- Davontae Hall had a career night in the Roos' most recent game against Montana State. The junior transfer scored a career-high 18 points on 4-of-7 shooting, going 8-of-10 from the line. He became the fifth different player to lead KC in scoring in a game this season.
- The 70-point plateau has proven to be a useful marker of success for KC. In games that they score 70-plus this season, the Roos hold a 4-1 record. When failing to reach the 70-point mark, the team is 0-6. In the Marvin Menzies era, KC is 25-7 when scoring 70 and 6-36 when scoring 69-or-fewer.
- Kansas City has established itself as a top rebounding team, averaging 37.6 boards per game, ranked 130th in the nation, and out-rebounding teams by 8.2 boards per game, ranking 34th in the nation. The Roos have pulled down more rebounds than their opponent in 7-of-11 games so far this year.
- The Roos are still looking for stability in the starting lineup. After using the same starting five in the first three games of the year, KC has now used seven different starting lineups in the last eight games.
