- In the season's inaugural KenPom rankings, the Roos are ranked No. 201 in the nation and are the second-ranked Summit League squad behind South Dakota State. It is the highest Kansas City has entered the season in the KenPom rankings since at least the 2009-10 season.
- Jamar Brown returns as the Roos' leading producer and a 2024-25 Preseason First Team All-Summit League honoree. The senior is the lone 2023-24 First Team All-Leaguer to return to the Summit this season and led the team with averages of 15.0 points and 6.1 rebounds per game last year.Â
- Kansas City was one of the best defensive teams in the Summit League last year, leading the league in scoring defense (69.3), opponent three-point percentage (32.0) and turnovers forced per game (12.66).
