Roos Open Season with 23-Point Win over Trojans

Jamar Brown dropped 26 points and nine rebounds, Davontae Hall dished eight assists in the win
KANSAS CITY - Kansas City Men's Basketball (1-0) opened up the 2024-25 season with a 91-68 win over Hannibal-LaGrange (0-1) this evening, outscoring the Trojans by 20 points in the second half. Jamar Brown led the Roos with 26 points, nine rebounds and four steals, shooting 8-of-8 from the field in the second half. Davontae Hall impressed in his first game as a Roo, earning the start at point guard and dishing out eight assists to go along with three steals. Jayson Petty and Cameron Faas joined Brown with double-digit scoring, dropping 17 and 15 points, respectively.

- 2H - 2:40 / 88-61 | Babacar Diallo forced the Trojans' Josh Talton into a turnover and on the other end, Hall found Faas for a triple that gave the Roos' their largest lead of the game.
STATS TO NOTE
- Brown reached double-digit scoring for the 29th time in his Kansas City career and went for 20-plus for the seventh time. The Roos are 17-12 in games that he scores 10-plus and 6-1 when he reaches 20.
- Kansas City led wire-to-wire, the second-straight regular season game that the Roos have done so reaching back to last year's regular season finale at Oral Roberts on Mar. 3.
- The Roos have now won back-to-back season openers, defeating Avila 79-48 on Nov. 6 of last year.
