Kansas City Women's Basketball Travels to Huntsville to Take on Alabama A&M

The Roos and the Bulldogs tipoff Tuesday at 11 a.m.
THE STARTERS
- Kansas City Women's Basketball continues its road stint in Huntsville, Alabama. Tuesday's game against the Bulldogs marks the Roos' fourth road game of the young season. The Roos enter the game with a 1-2 record on the road.Â
- Emani Bennett and Kelby Bannerman each put up 12 points in Kansas City's most recent match at Western Illinois. Em. Bennett brought down a team-high six rebounds and Bannerman was just behind her with five.Â
- Alayna Contreras is the Roos' leading scorer. She averages 13.3 points per game, opening the season with a new career-high of 29 points. She leads Kansas City beyond the arc with a .313 three-point percentage and averages 2.8 rebounds per game.Â
- In the last meeting between the Roos and the Bulldogs, Kansas City staged a second-half comeback to extend what became a five-game winning streak. KC went into halftime down by four, but a 20-point fourth quarter gave the Roos the 57-54 win.Â
- Tuesday's game marks the second meeting between the Roos and the Bulldogs and the first meeting between the two teams in Huntsville.Â
- Em. Bennett leads Kansas City in rebounds, blocks and minutes. She ranks 10th in the Summit averaging 6.8 rebounds per game.
SCOUTING ALABAMA A&M
- Alabama A&M enters the game with a 1-2 record, picking up a 66-57 win over Eastern Michigan on Nov. 9. The Bulldogs fell to the University of Alabama Birmingham 74-67 in Huntsville on Nov. 12.Â
- The Bulldogs have three players averaging in the double-digits. Kalia Walker leads the team averaging 13.3 points per game. Walker is joined by Kourtney Rittenberry and Lauryn Pendleton who average 10.7 and 10.3 respectively.Â
- The SWAC selected Alabama A&M to finish third out of twelve teams. They received four first-place votes and 226 points, putting them 50 points out of the first-place slot held by Grambling State and six points away from Southern in second.Â
- Both the Bulldogs and the Roos average more than ten steals per game. Kansas City ranks first in the Summit and 52 in the nation for seals per game averaging 12.3 per game. The Bulldogs rank 114 in the nation averaging 10.3.
