Roos Return Home for Meeting with Warriors

Kansas City Men's Basketball returns home on Monday for a meeting with Calvary at 7 p.m. in the Swinney Center. The Roos are 2-0 at home so far and look to start 3-0 for the second-straight year.
Jayson Petty has given the Roos consistent scoring to start his sophomore campaign, going for double-digits in each of KC's first four contests. He is averaging 14.3 points per game and is the only player to reach 10 points in each game this year.
Jamar Brown ranked fourth in the Summit in offensive rebounding in 2023-24 with 2.31 per game and has been even better on the offensive glass to start this year. He is currently averaging 5.75 offensive boards per game, ranking first in the Summit and second in the nation. He went for eight offensive rebounds against Creighton on Saturday, joining UST's Ben Oosterbaan as the league's only players to go for eight-plus in a game this year.
Kansas City has been solid from the free throw line as a team to start the year, shooting 76.1% on the season an 82.8% in the last three games. The Roos have not shot above 75% from the line for a full season since 2001-02.
Against a pair of non-Division One opponents this year, the Roos are averaging 107.5 points per game, shooting 51.5% from the field and knocking down 12.5 threes per game.

Scouting Calvary

Calvary is a member of the Midwest Christian College Conference, playing at the National Christian College Athletics Association Division II level.
Matt Sanders is the Warriors' coach and athletic director, leading Calvary since 2015.
The Roos and the Warriors have met twice in the past, with Kansas City winning both games by an average of 60.5 points.
The last meeting came on Nov. 14, 2022, a 113-54 win for the Roos. Six Kansas City players scored 10-plus in that game, led by RayQuawndis Mitchell with 18.
