Roos Continue Travel Against Southern Illinois and St. Louis

Kansas City Notes

After traveling to Iowa on Sunday, this Thursday's game will be the second road game of Kansas City's four-road game streak. Following their matchup in Southern Illinois, the Roos travel to St. Louis and then wrap things up in Fort Collins, Colorado.
The Roos bring in six new players to this year's squad: Sydney Maddox, Gigi Mir, Maya Prehm, Alisha Sandoval, Cree Stewart and I'Yawa Brewer. The five freshmen and one transfer student will step in for the eight players lost at the end of last season. Five of the six newcomers are from the Kansas City area: Lawrence, Leawood, Lenexa and Independence.
In their first game of the season, the Roos documented two goals. Anna Jennings knocked in the second goal of the night against Lindenwood, which was the first game-winning goal of her career.
Kansas City got to work early in their win over Lindenwood with ten shots. Brianna Castleberry fired off five against the Lions and leads the team in shots with seven.

Southern Illinois Notes

This will be the second time in program history the Roos have taken on the Salukis. The first time the two teams met was during the 2021 season when Kansas City won 3-2.
Southern Illinois started their season off with a win at home over Jackson State. The Salukis came up with the win from a McKensey Bunch goal and a Kaitlyn DuCharme penalty kick. Bunch and DuCharme are the only two Salukis to document goals so far this season.

St. Louis Notes

During the preseason, the Billiken's faced Lindenwood putting up a dominant 4-0 shutout. The Roos opened their season with a win over Lindenwood.
In their first two games, St. Louis has earned four goals each of which was scored by a different player.
St. Louis comes hot off a shutout against Utah State but lost their season opener 2-3 to then No. 13 BYU.
