Kansas City Softball Finishes Home Stretch with Series Against North Dakota

Following the conference series, the Roos travel to Springfield to take on Missouri State
Kansas City Notes
- Kansas City will search for its first conference win, after opening its season against North Dakota State University and South Dakota State, who are ranked third and first in the Summit League respectively.
- The Roos' most recent lead was on March 15, when they scored one run in the top of the first inning against Creighton. Getting ahead early will be important for KC, with a 4-2 record when leading after five innings.
- Sophomore Amelia Fitzgerald, yields the fifth-highest batting average in the Summit League at .417 earning 8 hits off of 17 at-bats. She is currently on a five-game hitting streak earning seven hits in the past five games.
- Katie Noble stays a defensive staple for Kansas City. She leads the Roos in the circle with a 6.75 ERA this season. Noble leads the team in ground ball outs, fly ball outs and putouts racking 151 between the circle and first base. At-bat, Noble leads the team with two multiple RBI games.Â
- North Dakota comes into the matchup hot after winning its fourth game of the season and first game of the conference against Omaha last weekend.
- The Fighting Hawks and the Roos have both faced Rider and South Dakota so far this season. The Roos beat Rider 5-0, thanks to a Katie Noble no-hitter while the Fighting Hawks split winning one and losing the other. Kansas City and North Dakota both lost their series against South Dakota.
- In conference play, Senior Madi Moore leads the Fighting Hawks at the plate with a .235 avg. Moore had four hits in 17 at-bats one of which was a single.
- The Bears are currently tied for third in the Missouri Valley Conference, thanks to their current ten-game winning streak. The Bears are undefeated at home this season going 7-0.
- Earlier this season, the Bears beat No. 23 Wichita State 2-1 in Wichita.
- Sophomore Mackenzie Chacon leads the Bears in the circle with a 1.45 ERA.
