Kansas City remained close into the late innings, but Omaha put up eight runs in the sixth and seventh
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas City (6-33, 1-9) dropped game one of their series against Omaha (19-13, 5-4) this afternoon by a final of 11-3. The Roos had the bats going early, scoring two in the second inning on a hit and bases loaded walk, but were unable to push anymore across. It was a tight contest throughout until the sixth inning where the Mavericks would put up five runs to put the game out of reach.

- Bottom 5 / 2-3 | Katherine Karnatz led off the inning with a double to deep centerfield but was stranded there.
- Top 6 / 2-8 | The Mavericks offense explodes for five runs, including a two-run homerun to extend their lead to six.Â
- Bottom 7 / 3-11 | After Omaha added a few more in the top of the seventh, Kiki McCrea found a gap in the outfield for a double that brought Vonfeldt around to score. The Roos' rally would end there and the Mavs took the victory.
STATS TO NOTE
- Kvale reached base safely twice in the same game for the fourth time this season.
- The Roos' eight walks tied the most they've had in a conference game this season.
- McCrea's RBI double in the seventh was her 10th on the season.
