Kansas City battled, but Omaha pitching proved to be the deciding factor in both games
GAME 1 KEY MOMENTS
- Top 1 / 0-0 | With an Omaha runner on third, Jenna Milan punched the strikeout to end the inning.
- Top 2 / 0-0 | The Roos go three-up, three-down, including another Milan strikeout.
- Top 4 / 0-1 | With the bases loaded for Omaha, the Roos get out of the inning. Omaha scored the first run of the game in the top of the third.
- Top 7 / 0-1 | Audrey Danielson came into pitch in the sixth inning, retiring all six batters she faced, including two strikeouts.
- Bottom 3 / 6-7 | After giving up five runs in the first, the Roos answered in the third with a single from Ally Vonfeldt, followed by a double down the left field line by Kiki McCrea. With the bases loaded, KC plated one off an Omaha error and the next at-bat, Katie Noble blasted a ball to left field for a grand slam scoring four more. Taylor Kvale scored off of a hard-hit ball up the middle from Espy Daniels to cap off a six-run inning for the Roos.

- Top 5 / 6-7 | Camryn Stickel holds Omaha scoreless with a runner in scoring position, including a strikeout.
- Bottom 5 / 7-7 | Daniels scored off of a deep line drive to left-center from McCrea, her second hit of the game.
- Top 6 / 7-9 | The Roos converted a double play on a fly ball to right field with the runner at third leaving early. Omaha plated two in the inning.
- In game one, Danielson retired all six batters she faced from when she came in to pitch in the top of the sixth, including two strikeouts.
- Noble notched her second home run on the season, putting her in a tie for the home run leader of the team.
- The Roos had several scoring opportunities, but ended up leaving 10 runners on base in each game.
- Noble's grand slam put her at 12 RBIs this season, second on the team behind Vonfedlt.
The Roos will be back next Saturday for a series against Western Illinois in Macomb, IL.
