Freshman Katie Noble tosses KC’s first no-hitter since 2019 as the Roos cruise past the Broncs

ARLINGTON, Texas – Kansas City Softball (5-13) took down Rider University (3-7) 5 – 0 with a no-hitter from Katie Noble. The last Kansas City no-hitter was on February 23, 2019, against Grambling State. This was the first career no-hitter for the freshman.

Sydney Nichols hit her second home run of the season in the bottom of the fourth adding one run for the Roos. Kansas City also had four unearned runs which added to their total. The home run earned by Nichols was the only hit of the game.

KEY MOMENTS VS. RIDER

Bottom 1 / 1-0 | Espy Daniels reached home on an error and gave the Roos their first run of the game.
Top 3 / 1-0 | Noble forced an out off of a hit filed to right field and struck out the two consecutive batters to close the top of the inning.
Bottom 4 / 2-0 | Kansas City added to its score with a solo home run from Nichols to left field.
Bottom 5 / 5-0 | The Roos were able to convert three more runs as Katherine Karnatz, Ally Vonfeldt and Lexy Smith crossed the plate.

Noble achieved her first career no-hitter, the most recent since 2019. She also pitched all six innings the day prior against Lamar.
The home run from Nichols was the only hit of the day. This game had the least number of hits the Roos have had so far this season.
Along with the no-hitter, Noble nailed a career-high three strikeouts.
