Kansas City Notes

Kansas City will look to get something going after a difficult weekend in Greeley, Colo.
Senior, Ally Vonfeldt leads the Roos in batting with a .344 avg. Vonfeldt hit a home run and two doubles last weekend in the third game against Northern Colorado, batting in four.

Creighton Notes

Creighton is 11-11 coming off a two-game winning streak shutting out Penn back-to-back.
Cayla Nielsen leads the Bluejays with a batting average of .382.

Nebraska Notes

Nebraska won their last game against Missouri State to bring their record to 16-8.
The last meeting between Nebraska and Kansas City was a Nebraska win in 2005.

Tulsa Notes

Tulsa is 14- 11 on the season with a three-game winning streak behind them.
Tulsa split games with Missouri this season, winning one 6-5 and falling 13-1 in the other.

Fairfield Notes

A handful of delays and cancelations leave Fairfield with a 3-9 record and a nine-game losing streak.
This will be the first matchup between the Roos and Fairfield.

Kansas Notes

13-11 Kansas is on a one-game winning streak after splitting games with Summit League South Dakota State.
The last time the Roos beat Kansas was April 9, 2021, at Lawrence 8-6.

The Kansas City Roos softball team dominated the Western Illinois Leathernecks with an 8–0 shutout victory, during their second home game of the season. The Roos set the tone early and never let up, controlling the game from the first pitch to the final out. Strong performances in the circle and at the plate fueled the win, giving the Roos a statement victory at home. The team will look to carry this momentum into their next matchup.

Wednesday, March 18

The UMKC Kangaroos opened their home schedule with a doubleheader against the Creighton Bluejays, marking the first home games of the season. Creighton took the first matchup with a final score of 6-2, putting the Roos on the board with an early loss before the teams returned to the field for game two. UMKC fought to keep momentum going into the second game as they looked to bounce back in front of the home crowd. The Roos ultimately fell in the nightcap as well, with the final score of game two ending at 9-0.
