A hot-shooting Baylor team proved too much to handle for KC down the stretch
WACO, Texas - Kansas City Men's Basketball (2-1) showed some positive moments this evening as it took on No. 15 Baylor (4-0), but in the end the Bears were too much to handle as KC fell, 99-61. Anderson Kopp led the Roos with a season-high-tying 15 points, while Jamar Brown scored 11 of his own, all coming in the first half.Â
The Roos shot 41.0% from the field on the night, knocking down 25-of-61 shots, but were just 4-of-23 from three-point range. Baylor shot the ball at a 57.4% clip, while making 13-of-23 triples for a 56.5% rate.Â
Through the first three media timeouts, Kansas City remained within striking distance, trailing by just six points. A late first half run gave Baylor an extended edge going into the half, but once again the Roos played fairly even through 12 minutes in the second half until a late run by the Bears.
