Lily Stedman found Brianna Castleberry for the game-winner with 17 seconds remaining to carry KC to victory
KANSAS CITY, MO — Kansas City Women's Soccer 2-4-7 (1-1-2) clinched a thrilling 2-1 victory over St. Thomas 2-5-4 (0-3-1) working tirelessly to create goal-scoring opportunities. The Roos' tenacity paid off when Gigi Mir found the back of the net and tied the game, offering the glimmer of hope Kansas City needed. The defining moment of this nail-biter unfolded in the last 17 seconds, as Brianna Castleberry blitzed through St. Thomas's backline. Castelberry fired off a shot that struck the crossbar before landing safely in the goal. The 90-minute goal secured the Roos' first conference win of the season.

- After being outshot 8-4 in the first half, the Roos outshot the Tommies 12-4 in the second half.
- Castleberry's 90th-minute goal was the first 90th -minute game-winner by a Roo since Rylan Childers on Sep. 23, 2018, and was just the second such goal in program history.
- Gigi Mir now has three goals on the season, the second most on the team and the most by a true freshman since Rileigh Kuhns in 2020.
- Castleberry has now scored three goals in the past two matches, giving her a team-leading five on the season. That mark is tied for fourth in the Summit League.
