
90th Minute Goal Drops Roos Against Omaha

The Roos got to an early lead in both halves but could not hold on
The Mavericks rallied their second equalizer of the day and landed a third goal in the 90th minute to put them on top.
KEY MOMENTS
- 5' / 1-0 | The Roos got to work early. Anna Jennings got control of the ball before passing it to Castleberry who took it up the field. Castleberry launched one to the bottom right corner of the goal to get the Roos on the board.
- 24' / 1-0 | Back-to-back corner kicks gave the Mavericks two scoring chances. The first shot was blocked by Kansas City and Riley Moore was there to make the save on the second corner kick.
- 40' / 1-1 | Omaha knocked a lethal cross in the box and was able to finish, finding the back of the net to tie the score.
- 50' / 2-1 | Once again, the Roos made an offensive push, this time five minutes into the second half. Castleberry crossed the ball into the box finding Stedman. Stedman fired one off, hitting the crossbar and sending the ball just over the line. Madison Page got a head on the ball to ensure the shot went in and the Roos reclaimed the lead. The Mavericks responded scoring an equalizing goal in the 85th minute.

- Castleberry earned three points with a goal in the first half and an assist in the second. This was her sixth goal of the season and fourth goal of conference play. During conference play, Castleberry leads the Summit League in points with nine, goals with four, and shots on goal with ten.
- This was the fourth game in which the Roos have allowed their opponents three or more goals. The Roos are 0-3-1 when they allow their opponents three or more goals. When the Roos hold their opponents to one or fewer goals, they have a 2-2-6 record.
- Riley Moore and Sophia Limongi were the only two Roos to play the full 90 minutes. This was the 11th consecutive game in which both Moore and Limongi have played the entire matchup.
The Roos return home for two games to close out the regular season. Kansas City will take on (7-4-4, 3-2-1) South Dakota on Thursday at 7 p.m. followed by South Dakota State (11-3, 4-1) on Sunday at 1 p.m.
