
Tennis Drops Matches to Kansas

Kansas City played a pair of matches with the Jayhawks, falling in both
LAWRENCE, Kan. - Kansas City Tennis traveled west for a pair of matches with Kansas on Wednesday afternoon, falling 4-0 and 5-0, respectively. It was the Roos' first doubleheader since taking on Wichita State and Missouri on the same day during the 2016-17 season.
In the first match, the Jayhawks earned the doubles point with wins at the Nos. 1 and 2 spots. Riddhi Sharma and Laura Munoz-Baroja were up a game at No. 3 doubles, but the match went unfinished. In singles, Munoz-Baroja and Sharma each put up solid fights, losing their first set 6-4 with the match going unfinished. The Jayhawks earned the win with points at Nos. 2, 4 and 5 singles.
The second match began with singles, with each of the top five courts finishing. Anastassiya Timofeyeva kept her match the closest, losing 6-4, 6-2 at No. 3 singles. No other Roo won more than three games in a set.
Kansas City is back in Summit League action this weekend, traveling to North Dakota for a matchup with the Fighting Hawks on Saturday.
