Fighting Hawks Take Down Roos in Summit Action

Anastassiya Timofeyeva and Tuana Tinzatepe each won singles matches on the day
GRAND FORKS, N.D. - North Dakota took down Kansas City in Summit League tennis action on Saturday evening, 5-2. The loss drops the Roos to 1-3 in conference play on the year.
The Fighting Hawks took an early lead in doubles play, winning on the first and third courts. The Roos got a win at No. 2 singles from Grace Ball and Eva Kresovic, 7-5. It was their second win in three matches and took them to 6-1 in their last seven matches together.
In singles play, the Roos got sparks from Anastassiya Timofeyeva and Tuana Tinaztepe. Timofeyeva played No. 4 singles for the sixth time this season, winning her second three-set match of the year. After falling in the first set, she pulled out each of the last two, 1-6, 6-4, 7-6 (7-5). Tinaztepe won at the No. 6 spot for the third time in four completed matches, earning a 6-2, 6-1 decision.
The Roos are back in action in Tulsa, Okla. this upcoming weekend, taking on Tulsa and Oral Roberts on Saturday and Sunday.
