Roos Push Mavericks to Limit on Senior Day

Kansas City earned three victories in singles play over Omaha
KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- Kansas City Women's Tennis (3-14, 0-6 Summit) pushed Omaha (15-8, 5-0 Summit) to the limit in the Roos senior day match despite falling 4-3 on Sunday afternoon at the KC Racquet Club. The Roos honored three seniors including Maria Bylina, Amal Gati and Cathrine Chrobak for their tremendous contributions to KC tennis over the last four years.Â
In the match, Omaha took the doubles point and the Mavericks went up 1-0. The Roos and Mavericks split the singles matches with KC finding victory in the second, fifth and sixth matchups. Most notably, Alessandra Xibilia took a decisive win in the No. 2 position, besting Omaha's Nina Wiese in two sets by scores of 7-5, 6-4.
Additionally, the Roos found themselves on the right side of the results in positions five and six as Alisa Reznik dispatched UNO's Jacqueline Pearsall in two sets by way of 7-5, 6-3 victories. Bylina took care of Corrine Barber 6-0, 6-3 to polish off the Roos day in singles play.Â
