The Roos earn a 7-0 victory over the Tommies in their first-ever meeting
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas City Tennis (3-6) picked up its first Summit League victory of the year this afternoon, sweeping past St. Thomas in the two teams' first-ever meeting, 7-0.Â
Michela Xibilia and Anastassiya Timofeyeva started the Roos off hot at the No. 1 doubles spot, winning in a 6-1 decision. After the Tommies picked up a win at the No. 3 spot, it came down to Eva Kresovic and Grace Ball at the No. 2 court. The duo fell behind early, but battled back with a big service break, and Ball held serve in the final game to give the Roos their second doubles point in the last three matches.

Ball opened singles play strong, jumping out to a 6-0, 3-0 lead on the No. 1 court before her St. Thomas opponent retired due to injury. Xibilia continued her stellar singles play as well, picking up a 6-4, 6-1 win for her second-straight singles victory. The win moves her to 6-2 in the last eight matches. Shortly after Xibilia finished, Timofeyeva finalized a 6-4, 6-0 win for her first victory at No. 4 singles, clinching the match for the Roos.
