Volleyball Hits the Road for Omaha, Denver

The Roos will take on Omaha on Thursday and Denver on Saturday
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Roos take their second-to-last road trip of the regular season this week, traveling to Omaha and Denver for a pair of Summit League matches.
Kansas City Notes
Kansas City Notes
- KC's last three games all went to a full five sets, a win over Oral Roberts and a pair of losses to North Dakota State and North Dakota.
- This marks the first time that Kansas City has played in three-straight five-set matches since the 2020 season, two of which came against Omaha. The Roos have not played in four-straight five-setters since 2012, when they notched five in-a-row.
- In the first three matches of the second half of league play, KC has shown steady improvement. The Roos won two more sets each against ORU, NDSU and UND in their second matchup than in the first.
- The Roos' back line is tops in the Summit in total digs, registering 1,493 so far this year. That mark is good for 32nd in the nation.
- Kennedy Schritenthal paces the Roos with an average of 4.24 digs per set, which is third in the Summit League. In the five-set match against North Dakota State, she set a career-high with 25 digs.
- With 17 more assists, Sydney Henry will reach the 500-assist mark on her rookie campaign. Senior Peyton Van Nest is not far behind, notching 467 assists so far this year.
- With an average of 3.33 kills per set, Odyssey Warren ranks seventh in the Summit League.
Omaha Notes
- Omaha enters the match at 15-8 with a 10-3 record in conference play. That mark is good for third in the league.
- The Mavericks swept the first meeting between these two teams with three hitters in double-digit kills.
- All-time in Omaha, the Roos hold a 5-3 advantage. KC's last win at Baxter Arena came on Feb. 8, 2021, a 3-2 Roo victory.
- Omaha leads the Summit League in kills per set, averaging 14.09. That mark is the 16th-best in the nation.
- McKenna Ruch ranks second in the Summit, averaging 1.36 blocks per set.
Denver Notes
- Denver enters the weekend with a 15-9 record and will take on ORU on Thursday, looking to extend its winning streak to four games.
- The Pioneers won the first meeting between these teams with a 0.432 hitting percentage.
- The Roos' lone win all-time against the Pioneers came on Nov. 18 of last season, a 3-1 win in Denver.
- The Pioneers are the best blocking and serving team in the Summit League. They average 2.84 blocks per set and 1.70 aces per set.
- Brianna Green leads the league and ranks seventh in the nation, averaging 1.52 blocks per set.
