
Men's Soccer Travels to SIUE, Hosts Drake

The Roos will take on SIUE on Friday at 7 p.m. and Drake on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas City Men's Soccer finishes its five-game road trip at SIUEÂ on Friday at 7 p.m., looking to shake off Monday's loss at Northwestern. The Roos will then play their home opener against Drake on Tuesday at 7 p.m. for a 'Gold Out for Pediatric Cancer Awareness' game.

- Each of the Roos' first four goals this season have come from different players. Edson Murguia, Vlad Jokic, Kazuki Kimura and Shfeo Lar have all scored one goal on the year.
- Cooper Clark has been a mainstay in goal for the Roos thus far, playing all 364 minutes. On the season, he has made 23 saves and earned Summit League Defensive Player of the Week on Aug. 30.
- Clark's 23 total saves lead the Summit League and rank third in the nation. His average of 5.75 saves per game is 11th nationwide.
- The Roos currently rank first in the Summit League in shot accuracy, placing 50% of their shots on goal. Murguia, Jokic and Lar are the team leaders, with three shots on goal apiece.
- Kansas City's five-straight games away from home to open up the year are tied with the 1988, 1996 and 2008 Roos for the most consecutive games away from Kansas City to begin a season.
SIUE Notes
- The last time Kansas City played SIUE, the Cougars prevailed in a 1-0 decision in September of 2019.
- The Cougars played Marquette on Aug. 29, losing 4-3. The Roos also fell to the Golden Eagles on Sept. 3, losing 2-1.
- SIUE averages 2.5 more shots than their opponents per game, averaging a 12.8 clip. That mark ranks 78th among Division One teams.
Drake Notes
- The Roos and the Bulldogs are familiar opponents, having played 32 times in the past. Drake currently rides a 10-match win streak in the series.
- Drake has already played and defeated three Summit League teams, winning against Western Illinois, Omaha and St. Thomas.
