The Roos finish their non-conference slate against Drake and Northern Iowa this weekend.
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas City Women's Soccer finishes its non-conference schedule this weekend in Iowa, taking on Drake on Friday at 1 p.m. and Northern Iowa on Sunday at 1 p.m.Â
Kansas City Notes
Kansas City Notes
- Mackenzie Caldwell has made at least seven saves in all four of her starts this season, including a career-high 12 in last week's loss against Iowa. That mark was good for the fourth-best single-game saves tally in program history.
- Sophia Limongi and Emma Wilson have been mainstays in the Roos' lineup, starting in all eight games and playing a team-high 710 minutes each. Limongi has a goal and an assist on the year, while Wilson has attempted seven shots, placing two on goal.
- At four goals and 16 shots attempted, Kassi Ginther currently accounts for 50% of the Roos' goals and 24% of their shots.
- With an average of 9.0 saves per game, Caldwell currently ranks third in the nation in that category. If the season ended today, it would be the best saves per game mark in program history.
- Rileigh Kuhns currently ranks second on the team with 10 shot attempts, placing seven on goal for a .700 shot accuracy percentage.
Drake Notes
- The Roos and Bulldogs will face off for the 10th time in program history on Thursday. The Roos have earned results in the past two matchups, a win in 2018 and a draw in 2019.
- Drake have won four of their last five and are coming off a 2-0 upset of 15th-ranked Memphis last Sunday.
- The Bulldogs have played two Summit League teams already, earning a 1-0 victory over St. Thomas and falling 4-1 to South Dakota.
Northern Iowa Notes
- Kansas City will look to extend its win streak against the Panthers, having won a decisive 4-0 match in 2019.
- UNI have played a full slate of Summit League teams, losing to Omaha, WIU, SDSU and South Dakota twice and drawing with St. Thomas.
- Lauren Heinsch is one of six Panthers to have started all eight games, leading UNI with five goals and two assist. Her 29th minute goal against St. Ambrose was the game-winner.
