- Kuhns, who led the Roos with three goals last year, scored her first goal of the season and the first game-winner of her career.
- Despite being outshot 7-3 in the second half, Kansas City put all three of its second half shots on goal and scored with two of them.
- McLaughlin, Fields and Simms each dished assists on KC's goals, the first of all of their careers.
- Sophia Limongi and Emma Wilson each played the full 90 minutes in the outfield for Kansas City.
COACH JESS SMITH, QUOTED
"We scored three quality goals tonight that were the result of great buildup play in our middle third, which was a focus this week for our group. I'm disappointed with the goals we gave up, but we will learn from these moments and be better going forward."
UP NEXT
The Roos will complete their weekend trip with a Sunday matchup against SIUE at 2 p.m. The Cougars qualified for the 2020 NCAA Women's Soccer Tournament by winning the Ohio Valley Conference.
