Cooper Clark made six saves to keep the Roos in the game, but the Eagles prevailed
Despite the loss, Head Coach Ryan Pore was complimentary about his team's performance.
"We achieved a lot of things that we worked on throughout the week. We're not a finished product yet, obviously," Pore said. "It's another game that's going to prepare us for the rest of the conference schedule."
Throughout the first half, the Roos weathered the storm well with Clark making several key saves to keep the game knotted at zero going into halftime.
Ryan Khedoo had the best opportunity for Kansas City to score in the first half. He took a pass and headed to the goal, took a shot but was denied by the CMU keeper with a sliding save.
Khedoo, Albert Porqueras Adame and Kevin Komodi were credited with shots on goal.
"We've got to do better in front of the goal," Pore said. "It's been positive with the chances we've created, but we've got to put them away."
Central Methodist scored at 63' to break the deadlock.
Clark was replaced at 74' in favor of backup keeper Eli Crow. He finished with six saves on the day.
Kansas City comes back on Thursday to begin its weekend series against Denver. Kickoff is 7 p.m. on Thursday and 6 p.m. on Saturday.
