KANSAS CITY, MO. – The Kansas City Women's Basketball Basketball program has announced the signing of two student-athletes – Machia Mullens and Bridget Froehlke – to National Letters of Intent to play for the Roos for the 2020-21 season.
"Both Machia and Bridget are proven winners who come from great backgrounds of receiving high-level coaching both in high school and on the AAU circuit," said Head Coach Jacie Hoyt. "They both share a quality that will instantly make an impact in our program; they play the game with JOY!"

Why Kansas City Athletics: "I chose Kansas City because of the coaching staff and the environment that they create. The coaches are very involved with their athletes' lives and genuinely care about each and every one of them. They also set a standard of bettering yourself everyday day and that's something that I hope to do."
Coach Hoyt on Mullens:
"Machia is a versatile player with a unique blend of athleticism and size that makes her hard to guard, but gives her the ability to defend multiple positions on the floor. I love that she is a three-sport athlete because it has aided in her versatility and also gives her a really high ceiling once she is fully committed to basketball."

Why Kansas City Athletics: "I felt an immediate connection as soon as I stepped on campus! I loved the coaches and players that I was fortunate enough to meet, and had an amazing time learning about the program. I not only wanted to go somewhere that I saw as a good fit, I also wanted to go somewhere that I felt wanted and Kansas City provided that for me!"
Coach Hoyt on Froehlke:
"Bridget is a dead eye shooter who has great instincts and a very high basketball IQ. One of my favorite things about Bridget is that she is a coach's kid who has an intense love for the game. She has a rare desire to get better every day, and I believe she will help us continue to raise the bar of standards and work ethic within our program."
