Roos Roll Past Billikens 4-1 in Non-Conference Tilt

(St. Louis, Mo.) - The UMKC men's tennis squad continued to roll on Tuesday afternoon, taking out Saint Louis by a 4-1 margin on the road.
UMKC (14-7) jumped out quick in doubles for the fourth straight match, getting wins at the No. 1 and 3 positions to clinch the point. Airam Castellano and Mike Psarros improved their record to 16-4 at the No. 1 position, winning their fourth match in a row as well. The contest at No. 2 went unfinished after the point was clinched.
In singles play, the Billikens (10-6) were able to get a win at No. 2, but it was too little, too late as the Roos took straight set wins at Nos. 3, 4 and 6 to claim the victory. Uldis Gaismins continued his hot streak at No. 3, winning his career-best 10th straight match. Amaury Navette and Psarros both picked up victories as well for UMKC.
UMKC was ahead in the third set at No. 1, and was down a set at No. 5 when the match was clinched.
The Roos will host Illinois State on Friday at the Plaza Tennis Center. First serve is set for noon.
