Wichita State Knocks Off Roos' Tennis

(Wichita, Kan.) - The UMKC men's tennis team dropped a 4-0 contest at Wichita State on Wednesday, finishing a three-match road swing.
UMKC (5-6) knew it had its hands full going in, as WSU had been ranked in the ITA top 75 most of the season. The Shockers (9-6) took control of the contest with wins at the No. 1 and 2 positions to take the doubles point. UMKC was trailing 4-3 in the other match before the point was clinched.
In singles play, UMKC was faring well at Nos. 2, 4 and 6, either forcing a tiebreak, winning a set, or leading a set once the match was clinched. WSU took the match thanks to wins at the No. 1, 3 and 5 spots in straight sets. The dual ended after the contest at No. 5 clinched it.
UMKC will open the home outdoor portion of is schedule on Friday in a newly added match against Olivet Nazarene at the Plaza Tennis Center, set for 3 p.m.
