UMKC Takes Out Creighton on Road, 6-1

(Omaha, Neb.) - The UMKC men's tennis squad continued to roll on Saturday afternoon, taking a 6-1 victory on the road at Creighton of the Big East Conference. It was the third straight win for the Roos.
UMKC (8-6) set the tone from the start, winning by a 6-3 score in all three doubles matches over the Bluejays (6-5). They used that momentum to roll into singles play with the 1-0 lead.
The Roos put it away early, winning in straight sets at No. 1, 5 and 6 from Airam Castellano Vinh Pham and Amaury Navette, respectively. Creighton got one back at No. 2, but the Roos pulled out a pair of matches at the No. 3 and 4 positions in decisive third sets to finish the match off.
UMKC will be back home on Tuesday afternoon when the men and women play a doubleheader against McPherson College.
