UMKC Completes California Trip with 6-1 Victory Over Banana Slugs

(Santa Cruz, Calif.) - UMKC proved to have too much depth on Sunday against UC-Santa Cruz, taking a 6-1 victory in the final match of a road swing to California.
The Roos (5-5) made quick work of the Banana Slugs (3-4) in doubles play, taking 6-1 and 6-2 victories at the No. 3 and No. 1 spots, respectively. They went into singles play with that momentum and it was much of the same.
UCSC gave the Roos some tough outs in the 1-3 positions, even taking a win at No. 2, but the 4-6 spots saw UMKC cruise to victory. Even though the Roos won at both the one and three positions, they were forced to playing a tiebreak in each match.
The Roos will play at Wichita State on Wednesday afternoon at 1 p.m.
