UMKC Controls Play, Remains Undefeated at Home with Win Over SDSU

(Kansas City, Mo.) - The UMKC men's tennis team stayed perfect at home with a 5-2 victory over South Dakota State on Saturday afternoon at the Plaza Tennis Center.
The 'Roos (7-8) were in control throughout, taking the first two matches in doubles play at No. 2 and No. 3 to take the point heading into singles action.
UMKC didn't let up from there on the Jackrabbits (6-6), winning its first four matches in straight sets to stake itself to a 5-0 lead. Mike Psarros took care of business first, followed by Andrey Smirnov, Airam Castellano, and Conner Edwards, all in straight sets. After the match was already clinched, SDSU took tight wins at No. 3 and No. 4.
UMKC improved to 11-0 all-time against South Dakota State with the win. The 'Roos will face Cowley College on Sunday at 11:00 a.m. at the Plaza Tennis Center to finish off the home stand.
