'Roos Pull Out 4-3 Victory over Wildcats at Home

(Kansas City, Mo.) - The UMKC men's tennis squad kicked off outdoor play at home on Tuesday, taking a narrow 4-3 victory over Abilene Christian.
UMKC (got a win at No. 1 doubles, but two tight setbacks at the other spots gave the doubles point to the Wildcats (4-12).
In singles play, the 'Roos came storming back, taking victories at No. 1 from Airam Castellano, No. 2 from Andrey Smirnov, No. 4 from Uldis Gaismins and No. 6 by Mike Psarros. The clincher came at the No. 6 spot when Psarros took a straight-set win.
UMKC will face Omaha at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday morning, also at home.
