UMKC Takes Out Oral Roberts Friday, 5-2

(Tulsa, Okla.) - The UMKC men's tennis squad took a 5-2 victory on the road against former Summit League foe Oral Roberts Friday afternoon.
The 'Roos (4-5) battled in the all-important doubles, and got two close victories at No. 1 and No. 3 to take the point. They had to come back to do it as ORU (4-5) finished first at the No. 2 spot. Airam Castellano and Mike Psarros tallied a 7-5 win at the top spot to even it up, before the pair of Conner Edwards and Amaury Navette pulled out a tiebreaker win at No. 3 to send the 'Roos into singles play with the 1-0 lead.
The 'Roos dropped matches at the No. 1 and No. 2 positions, but rallied for victories at 3, 4, 5 and 6 to take the match. The clincher was a straight set win for Uldis Gaismins at the No. 4 spot against ORU's Michael Sosnowski.
UMKC will be off until March 6-7 when they head to Hawaii for a pair of duals.
