(Kansas City, Mo.) - The UMKC men's tennis squad won its third straight dual on Wednesday, making quick work of William Jewell at the Plaza Tennis Center by a 7-0 margin.
The 'Roos (6-13) took the doubles point after sweeping through matches at the No. 1 and No. 3 spots by 8-1 and 8-0 margins, while playing out an 8-5 victory at No. 2.
In singles play, UMKC gave normal No. 1 player Tomas Patino a rest, and moved everyone else up a position in the lineup. It made little difference though, as the Cardinals (4-8) were no match. Kansas City won all six contests in straight sets on the way to the victory.
The match was originally scheduled for early in the season indoors, but it was moved a couple times due to hazardous travel weather during the winter.
The 'Roos will host Cowley College on Friday at 4:00 p.m. for Senior Day. It will also be Campus Kids Day, with free ice cream, prize giveaways, and an post match autograph session. The UMKC women will also be playing at the same time against the Tigers.
