'Roos Swept by Green Bay and Drake Friday

(Des Moines, Iowa) - Kansas City men's tennis was swept twice on Friday against some stiff competition, falling to Green Bay and No. 42 Drake in Des Moines, Iowa at the Knapp Tennis Center.
The 'Roos (1-3) won the opening doubles match against the Phoenix (4-3) at the No. 2 position, but lost at both No. 1 and No. 3 in tiebreakers as UWGB took the doubles point. In singles play, the 'Roos led at No. 5 and 6, but the 2, 3 and 4 matches went the way of Green Bay in straight sets, ending the dual before the others completed.
The second dual of the day was against the hosts and 42nd ranked Bulldogs of Drake (4-3). Kansas City shook up the lineup, putting Mike Psarros at the No. 1 position, and inserted Uldis Gaismins into the No. 6 position while Daniil Ivanov took a break.
The Bulldogs took the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and 2, before clinching the match with victories at Nos. 1, 3 and 4 in singles play.
UMKC will host William Jewell on Sunday at 5:00 p.m. at the Carriage Club in Kansas City.
