
UMKC Drops 2-1 Decision To Youngstown State Despite Malloy Goal

Youngstown, Ohio -- The UMKC women's soccer team fell at Youngstown State on Sunday afternoon, 2-1. The Kangaroos fall to 0-4 on the season, while the Penguins improve to 2-4 overall. In the defeat, Meagan Malloy scored her first career goal.
Shelby Parks put the Guins, who totaled 20 shots, on the board just 14 minutes into the game when she drilled a loose ball passed UMKC goalkeeper Jami Finnell.Just 12 minutes into the second half, Allilson Ludwig received a long crossing pass over Finnell's out-stretched arms from junior Kelly Storkel and tapped in her sixth goal to give the Guins a 2-0 lead.
The Kangaroos cut the lead in half when Meagan Malloy took a pass from Zaina Mayer and slipped a shot passed Youngstown State's goal keeper for the 'Roos lone score.
The Kangaroos next take on Indiana State in Terre Haute, Ind., on Sept. 10 at 6 p.m.
